02/01/08 - GigaCom Wireless announced that Great American Networks has completed a Purchase Agreement
to purchase GigaCom Wireless HAFNIUM links in the Washington D.C. market providing highly scalable, carrier
grade radio solutions in support of Great American Networks portfolio of broadband wireless services.
Great American Networks operates a network in Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. metro area. Great
American Networks will use GigaCom Wireless's HAFNIUM products to offer backhaul wireless services to more
cost-effectively support next generation data access across their network as an alternative to conventional
wireline networks.
"We are finding alternative sources of local backhaul to support higher bandwidth, next generation services
over our network", said Brent Anderson, CEO of Great American Networks. "The GigaCom Wireless Ethernet radios
add gigabit scalability to our portfolio of broadband wireless offerings and provide us with another option to
cost-effectively expand our networks".
